36th Ion Chromatography Symposium was held
(Campus Innovation Center Tokyo of Tokyo Institute of Technology; at Tamachi, Tokyo)

Annual symposium hosted by Social Gathering of Ion Chromatography in the Japan Society for Analytical Chemistry was held on December 12 and 13, at Campus Innovation Center Tokyo of Tokyo Institute of Technology in Tamachi, Minato Ward, Tokyo.

Recent research presentations with regard to ion chromatography analysis were aggressively discussed by the researchers, students, as well as ion chromatograph manufacturers (Shimadzu and Metrohm Japan).
Also a special lecture was presented by Mr. Tada, Tosoh Corporation, titled “40 years R&D along with Ion Chromatography”. It is definitely impressive dedication toward IC development.

Dr. Nagashima of NAC Techno Service had oral presentation titled, “Iodine analysis in human urine by dosage of diagnostic medicine, using Combustion Ion Chromatograph (CIC)”. It is quite a new application in medical field for iodine analysis of iodine contrast agent into human body in vitro method. He has been contributing expansion plausibility of CIC analysis method as more application fields with CIC.

13 poster presentation session besides oral presentation had executed. Each poster’s presenter, who is college student, doctor or company side, was knuckled down diligently for respective investigation result.

In the evening of 12th, information exchange session (wrap-up party) was held near JR Tamachi station. About 50 participants were joined and effective information exchange was achieved each other.
In nicely good atmosphere, we enjoyed “Bingo” game together, hosted by Mr. Nakata of Tosoh Corporation.

We really appreciate our participation in 2 days whole sessions, which was quite significant enough time sharing.
Next symposium will be held in December 2020, at the same place, mainly organized by Dr. Mori, Faculty of Science and Technology, Kochi University.
